  • adverse effects of running open manifolds?

just curious what your thoughs are on running open manifolds for a week or two?

    '00 with no y-pipe.

not worried about post cat o2. but each bank o2, they kind of worry me, think they might get some unmetered air backflowed in?

    will I die from carbonmonoxide?

do I have to worry about underhood temps.

just considering doing something with the exhaust while its off but I would have to order some parts and wait.

hehe I am sure it will be... I once drove 3 hours with an open y-pipe on the 3.4L

It likely won't be my only vehicle at the time but I wanna put some miles on it.

i wouldnt do it without the ypipe on it, ever heard of burnt valves? i dunno if it would or not but i wouldnt want to risk it, plus you'd tire of the noise in the first day or two

I had headers for a lil while after I installed the headers. It was so loud and sounded sweet. Everyone thought that it had a monster V8 in it.

Just don't romp on it all the time and you'll be fine.
