muffler shops disgust me...

I dont' know if it's me but it looks like more and more muffler shops don't want to do anything but put mufflers on and thats it. I took my car to a muffler shop where my friend also got his catback put on. I got the 17143 Flowmaster American Thunder and I have a carsound cat. This is how bad it is. They didn't want to put it on because the cat didn't have a flange on it. You know how the s pipe has a flange so you can bolt it up to the stock converter? I was like can't you cut it off and weld it? And they fed me a bunch of bull**** about emissions and how they can't do it. Yea uhhh right. What a bunch of ****.

The muffler shop i go to is a friends of my dad, and he use to be that way as well, but i think do to less buisness he'll do anything as long as you pay him (i dont mean put a staright pipe instead of a cat, but stuff like welding the flang to the cat) im going to have the shop put on my flowmaster 80 series ,formula piping, and carsound cat, probably this week or next

And then they want to put on kinked up nonmandrel bent tube thats too small a diameter. Then try and sell you a restrive muffler and don't even try to get them to cut off your stock cat with less than 50,000 miles.

Meineke put my carsound cat and my flowmaster catback on. And my cat had only 33000 miles on it. Just tell em that you have a problem with it rattling really bad once it gets warmed up. So you bought a new one ( a high flow one).
