• HEADER INSTAL PLZ HELP!!!

ok i got the pacesetter headers and im putting them in myself, i got all the heat sheilds off the exhuast manifolds and looking at it it looks like im gonna hit the heating coil, also the steering knuckle is gonna be very close

how do i get around these things and also what other problems will i encounter?

Pull the steering shaft off. One bolt up top one on bottom. Slide it up and out or down and out.

Heating coil? Nothing on the passenger side should conflict.

You'll drop the stock manifolds/headers out the bottom of the car.

i rather pay someone to install them. have you ever seen that commercial by visa " i am not a plumber, I am not a mechanic, I am not a welder, and etc for everything else there is visa." thats how i see it. i know its easy but pay the welder to install them plus you don't get dirty and save some headaches

on mine (96 camaro) everything fit fine. nothing had to be moved at all. the heat shields were the hard part, not its just a matter of slapping them on there and welding in the y pipe.

IMHO, stupid is paying 300 bucks for a shop to do what you could do in a day.

you have to start somewhere to get experience. i didnt have any experience when i did my headers and i borrowed the basic hand tools. besides, you could save yourself money by buying the tools you need then paying someone else to do it.

i know what 2001V6Power is talking about though. I payed for a shop to put my headers on because god forbid i would eff my car up and not have it running for an extended period of time. And besides that i really didnt have the tools to take on the project, but that also doesnt mean i am taking my car into a shop to install every mod. I will be installing my own STS, panhard, and other stuff. Its just a time consuming install and some of us are new to installing and rather have it done right the first time.

I'd never trust taking my car to a shop. I cant name one time its came out right. If you want it done right, do it yourself.

Some of the posts are crazy. If you don't think you can do it or don't already know how, then don't try! You'd just be setting yourself up for trouble.

But how do you learn how to do it if not by actually trying?
