• Best bang for my buck!

Hey all,
I have decided that I am sick of wasting my money on mods that dont do anything for horsepower, just make my car look good. I have different ideas, like ram air, and NOS. However, I need to keep it under $1,000 or so because I dont have much money. What do you all recomend as the best thing to boost some power out of my V6, and turn some heads

the cam would begreat ifyou can do it yourself. If not it is about 1G for the parts, then install. Nitrous would be 4-600 then bottle warmer, regulators, etc which will add up. Again almost 1G then install(you could prolly do yourself).

I would go gears and diff (depending on current) for around 600 total including install. Wontadd hp, but will feel like it. Other 400 maybe get a used nitrous kit or new exhaust.

3 inch exhaust...from cat to tail.

finish off cold air intake with whisper lid or custom
smooth lid and smooth bellows...if not already done.

you still have 500 left over. Save a bit more and do a major mod like cam.

1)Homemade intake...cause if you know how to make it right it will be just as good as one that you can buy and will cost you less than 50 bucks.
2)Nitrous...get it used, that will net you some horsepower.
3)LSD and gears...you can get it used for a reasonable price.
4)Cut out...you don't mind the sound that is a good amount of horse power of not much cash, or just get an exhuast system.
Then you will have some left over and save that all up for a cam.

Right here...

fins in the lid... shave them out. Fin in the whole leading toward the intake... take it out...

Big air silencer between TB and lid... take it out and put a 3in to 3in TB coupler in its place.

Thats all you need to do.

for like $1 at home depot they have a plastic coupler, used to connect 2 pieces of PVC piping.

there is a ridge in the middle just shave it out, and put it in. the factory rubber boots.

You can try the rubber coupler, but I'd be worried it woudl suck itself close, they are generally pretty flimsy.

If there's one thing I can recommend for you to save money, it's for you to buy off eBay Motors...
