First I did what they suggested at Autozone and cleaned out both plugs with electric cleaner spray. I ran it a few days and never got a ses light. Somebody on LS1.com suggested that I clean the MAF wires with either brake cleaner or the same electric cleaner to fix the problem. I figured my wires were dirty anyways and that it couldn't hurt. I just took out my MAF sensor housing to let it cool down and clean it, just two screws and a plug and it's out. I just sprayed it with the electric cleaner after it was cool to the touch and put it back in the car when it was dry. So far I haven't gotten any SES lights, well, not from a o2 sensor at least. So far I'm still running my o2 sim untill I go a week or two without seeing a light then I'll get back to trying to make my own so I can sell mine.

Well, the dreded SES Light was gone for two weeks and all of the sudden it came back. This time it was a little different though, this time it was a high voltage code. I have no clue how a stinking o2 sim can increase voltage. It was when I was decelerating/coasting at low rpm's. Does the computer expect to see one thing and the o2 sim send back something different or what? I don't get this. I may be going back to building my own o2 sim.
Somebody that understands how the o2 sensor works check me and see if I have this right. The computer sends out 450milivolts through dark purple wire where it reacts or does something with the o2 molecules and comes back to the computer as either lower or higher voltage right? Exactly what voltage would it send back if there was no cat there? Exactly what voltage would it send back if there was one there? Does that stay the same at all rpm's?
I tried building the one on this site http://www.zx2racing.com/mods/mods_mil.htm but I really don't see the point of the capacitor in this diagram http://www.zx2racing.com/mods/mod_images/scem.gif. The person that wrote it says it's to oscillate the reading to make it look like a working o2 sensor" but wouldn't it oscillate if it were going through the the o2 sensor anyways right? If voltage is actually the potential for a charge to travel between two points, am I useing too small of wire maybe?
So what exactly does low and high voltage mean? Would low voltage normally mean that the cat is working too well and high voltage mean that the cat isn't doing it job?1997 Nassau Blue Vette<br />1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)<br />2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*
