The Magnaflow comes with clamps so you have that option if you want.
What I would suggest is clamp it all on yourself and get it positioned exactly how you want it so the tips are centered and the intermediate pipe doesn't hit the axle. There's a metal lip on the right side of the underbody that will probably interfere with the right exhaust tip. I think most people just flatten it out of the way.
Anyway, once you're satisfied with the way it's on, take it somewhere and have them weld it, then you can remove the clamps.
My brother is a mechanic and a certified welder, so I will have to get him to help me with this project. I've never installed an exhaust before and it seems like this project might be above my mechanical skills :( I am having it shipped 2nd day air, so it should be ready to go for my run at maple grove(I officially have the day off from work )
*borrowed* your sig(Test-n-Tune Nov. 5th @ Maple Grove) good idea!
if you could successfully assemble Legos into something that vaguely resembled the picture on the box when you were younger, you should be able to bolt up an exhaust. Its really just a matter of lining things up and clamping them together. Dont let it overwhelm you.

I was looking at the exhaust the other day when I was doing my tranny mount, it looks like my current exhaust is welded together.. which means I would have to cut the old exhaust before I could install the new ones
It's welded to the rear of the cat? There should be a flange there where you can unbolt it, and the muffler should be clamped to the intermediate pipe.
mine had a crimped band-clamp from the factory that was also rusted on. It was a PITA to remove. Unless you have a lift, I would recomend using a saw-zall to cut the exhaust just behind the cat or just in front of the weld. You will also want to make a couple of cuts on the I-pipe and take that out in pieces.

Just got my magnaflow on my formula, very happy with it. Tips are great, and the sound is very nice, and its pretty calm at cruisng(running headers no cat). WHen you open it up it sounds good though.
Anyone wanna buy a flowmaster? Or a catco converer? (came with the car)
Talked to my brother tonight and it doesn't sound like he is going to be helping me at all... Anybody know of a website that has a walkthrough with pictures for installing an exhaust?
Never mind, after listening to exhaust sound clips of a v6 revving I've decided not to buy an exhaust. I am going to buy tips just for a visual upgrade
I really wanted an exhaust but after listening to this clip it is making me second guess buying one... sounded dreadful and LOUD... Is this what the magnaflow sounds like when revving?
