My Flowmaster 80 sounded so crappy that I took off a brand new hi-flow cat ($80.00)and replaced it with a 24" straight-through glaspak resonator ($another $80.00). Now it only sounds half crappy. Actually not too bad outside but still very irritating in the car - 95 soft-top 3.4.

    I am now replacing the Flowmaster 80 ($80.00) with the DynoMax 17739 - ($80.00).

While the Flowmaster 80 is IMHO a piece of crap, their catback is excellent - very easy installation and great fit.

Too bad they hire hearing impaired sound engineers though.

you forget they are not designed for a v6. therefore, they are not hearing impared. 80 series flow sounds awesome as hell on a lt1.

Flowmaster specializes in muscle cars and focuses on v8's. I love the American Thunder set on my 69, however, I don't think it would sound good on my 96RS. I like the sound of the Borla on my RS. I think it sounds good on a v6, but to each his own.
