  • cai and water?

i was puttin on my slp cai today on my 97 maro and i noticed that a small (maye 2 inch wide in the biggest place) piece of plastic was missing right in front of the splash guard...it faces to the ground. should i worry about water getting up there and getting sucked into my engine. ok, if water does get there, should i worry about it sucking the water into my engine? thx.

I also have a 97 with slp cold air.
I then have a huge 8 inch by 4 inch scoop hanging out of the black plastic thing under the car.
I haven't had any problems and it has been like this for years

Should I worry if water is getting into my car everytime it rains? It's probably going right down into my ram air from the hood. Oh well, im still looking to get rid of that ram air kit and find some kind of custom CAI i can make for cheap. Hadn't had any luck though.

ok kool. i also left the little block off plastic piece that's supposed to keep the engine air from going to the filters off. i couldn't get the filters on very well without making them ride higher then they are supposed to...so i just left that piece out. not going to make a big diff in performance, is it?
