My exhaust still rattles a little bit when I hit some of the bigger potholes and stuff like that. My rear section (muffler and tips) are bolted on very securely but when I cut my old catalytic converter off and put my new one on, the new one (universal) didnt have the bracket that hooks into the rubber piece that is connected to the car. MY Intermediate pipe can move about 1/8 of an inch at the most, but that is enough for it to bump up against the underside of the car. Any ideas as to where to put maybe some other sort of hanger in? I tried making a rubber dampener to fill the 1/8 inch gap and that worked for a while but I used "exhaust proof" rubber and it ended up melting and corroding away.

my system rattles and squeeks, especially in 1st gear, and especially when backing up

gonna tighten everything and put some rubber pieces on some areas, maybe talk to a muffler shop aout welding on hangs right before where the tips connect to the tailpipes

I made another hanger to replace the one where the original catalytic converter bracket was. I bought a regular muffler hanger, put a clamp on the pipe behind the cat, and bolted the hanger to the bracket on the back of the transmission where the old bracket attached.
