Exhaust Question

I just installed a Magnaflow 2.5" catback on my '98 today. However, I hear a rattling/creaking sound coming from the stock bracket underneath where the S-pipe connects to the midpipe. Do I need that bracket?

push on the bracket and see if it stops making the sound. if it stops, get a new bracket welded in. if that does not take care of the problem, you exhaust pipe is propably touching the bottom of your car somewhere or touching something.

make sure that everything is back up on the hangers.

im not sure what you mean exactly by "bracket"..are you possibly talking about the tunnel brace?..my 3" borla system hit that all the time..so i took it off..its a flimsy POS anyway

you can make your own by using a ubolt and a piece of steel strapping. clamp the steel straping to the s pipe then bolt it to the stock chasis clamp. you still have the rubber dampner as well as sturdy conection for the s pipe. check it out...i have some pics of how i rigged up mine. The s pipe hanger section is about a 3rd of the way down the page.
