can you get away with just clamping the flowmaster cat back system with the clamps they give you? or will it effect performance and sound?

Clamps are pretty much just a temporary measure until you can get it welded, IMHO. There are some people that'll stick with clamps, but I'd get it welded when you get a chance.Matt

you can just clamp it. many people do. logic tells you though that clamps aren't going to hold up as well as welding it together. like matt said, clamp it, then take it to get welded. the price to have it welded after you set it up yourself should be minimal.

im using clamps on mine and theyre alright, but i do plan to get it welded after i do other mods. when i first put it on the pipes didnt fit perfect thoh, the pipes would squirm around abit and i was re-adjusting for a few days re-tightening. they stay in place just fine now thoh. i dunno if it effects sound or performance but i would get em welded when u can.-RJ \"Like trail mix I\'m a lil sweet but mostly nutty\"<br />Metallic Blue 2001 3.8 Firebird M5<br />FRA,Smoothed Air lid, Homedepot Intake, K&N Air Filter, MSD Coils & Plug wires, Iridium Plugs, Flash Tune, 2.5 Flowmaster Catback.
