I did the same thing to my Camaro the past few weeks. I also mid the Air Box mod. (Cut away) with my own cut away of the airbox silencer(So that it still feeds air from the side well. I felt more throttle resonse and it feels like I get more torque out of each gear before my torque converter shifts. My exhaust is a little deeper too. Great mod for only $0.99 worth of parts and a hours worth of work!

I used a cutter wheel on a dremmel. Make sure you cover up everything to make sure nothing gets anywhere its not supposed to ;)
The plastic gets really hot when you're cutting it, it almost melts away. So be careful when you do it. Its not hot enough to melt your finger off, but it will make you jump.Justin
2000 Black Firebird A4 Y87
170.2rwhp/203rwtq (SAE Corrected)

I have a 97 Firebird, is their any way I could do this? is it better than Cold Air? I have a K&N cold air induction, but I can't install it untill I buy this induction elbow which cost 89.99, but SLP had one that looked the same but it was Oval on one end, and it was for 59.99, is this the same thing? will it work? or should I try the Free Ram Air thing? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. thanksThen: 1997 3.8L Red Firebird~SOLD!~
Now: 2002 Atlantic Blue Dodge Ram 1500

i definately recommend you just unscrew your lid and the 4 bolts and take off that whole section...and use a dremmel. Really easy and effective..2003 Fire Red Dakota R/T 5.9
V-Force Exhaust
Custom Cold Air Intake

You've already done it since you have the fast-toys ram air set-up. All there talking about is cutting-out the bottom of their air boxes, which us 98+ guys already do when we install the underhood cold air kits by slp or fastoys.2002 Electron Blue Corvette Coupe
13.083@108.23

2002 Metallic Red Grandprix GTP SOLD
14.49@94.42 (Bone stock)

2002 Black Convertible Camaro Z28
times comming real soon!

You don't know what you're talking about. 93-97's can do it by making scoops under the front fascia to feed cold air into the filter area. Why are people going and reviving old threads anyways?
