  • SLP LOUDMOUTH F- - - ing loud!

Hey guys whats going on? I purchased a Loudmouth exhaust system on e-bay about a year ago. It was fun at first but I'm starting to think its just a little bit too loud. I think my neighbors would agree.. hehe It's become known as "The Cannon" on my block...

My question is what kind of muffler can I add to the system to get it a little quieter? I would like it to be loud when I step on it but not wake up the dead when im just backing out of my driveway at 2 in the morning? What would you suggest.

I have the edelbrock catback.... the 3" system. Its fantasic, a nice deep tone, but not too loud at all... Stays really deep through most of the RPM range. It also is fairly quiet at idle and low rpm range. I highly recommend it.

You could try splicing another resonator in the intermediate pipe but those are really just to adjust tone, not so much volume. You really need a muffler. A decent exhaust shop should be able to cut one in back at the normal mounting location and reuse your intermediate pipe and tailpipes/tips, if that's what you opt to do.

Yeah if possible I would still like to keep the 3" piping. Would it be possible just to change the muffler?

the loud mouth doesnt really have a mufflers, its a resonator that doesnt quite it down much at all. you can swap in a borla or something . cut of the resonator put in the new muffler and your done.

Turn it into the borla mouth, like alot of people do.
