I know theres lots of opinions about ram air on the v6's, but I'd still like to hear the opinions of people out there that have already done the mod, I bought the light weight suncoast creations ws6 style ram air hood and airbox and im waiting to get the hood painted to put it on...
Anyone out there already do this mod and what is your opinion on it as opposed to CAI
Thanks!!!

I have pretty much the exact same setup, except I have the other style hood listed in my signature. I'm letting you know now that the airbox was designed for the V8, and it's not going to line up straight. They should have given you a different hose that's longer and more stretchy than the one used the the V8, but it's still going to be a bit odd putting it on. You're going to have to connect the hose to the box and the intake *before* you bolt on the airbox in possition, that way you can "make" the hose bend enough when you move the box into place. But we have different models, so I'm not sure if the engine setup is the same or different, or even if the airbox setup will be the same, so I could just be talking for nothing. But anyway, I wouldn't even worry about any other kind of CAI, because if you spent $300 extra for that airbox setup to work specifically with that hood, then there's nothing else you're going to find that works together as well as that setup. As for performance and sound, I've beaten stock 3.8 Firebirds with just the hood/intake mod done. I didn't blow them away, but I still won, and my engine's got all kinds of problems with it. It's loud too, but in a good way. I could hear that loud sucking noise half way down the street when at idle. Anyway, I think you won't be disappointed with it, so good luck.
