  • Cutout soundclip

Well, it's time for another one of my crappy quality sound clips made with my $10 Wal-Mart tape recorder :D

I almost didn't even want to post this clip, as it's such bad quality it makes the cutout sound bad at times. I was doing this on a back road behind my house, and my parents were up at the neighborhood pool, over a mile away. After I finished the recording they called me and asked what I was doing :D That's how loud it is! Anyways, I did it in a big open area, so there's a lot of freakin wind which interfears as well.

I started about 5 feet from the recorder, then just for the hell of it I backed up so my car was right ontop of the recorder... guess the mic didn't like it cuz that part sounds like ****, heh. It gets a bit raspy when I rev it high, but under load it sounds great.

http://camarov6.netfirms.com and click on the link at the top for the clip of the cutout. (might hafta drag it to the URL window since it's Geosh*tties and the webpage itself isn't)

Unfortunately the recorder can't record low enough sounds to do it full justice. It vibrates the car slightly at idle it's so deep.

So where did you mount this cutout? It sounds good down low, I wish there was something to take care of that topend though, doesn't seem like anything will cure that. :(

It's along the i-pipe right after the s bend.

The top end does sound kinda bad in the recording, but trust me, it doesn't sound like that in real life. I think it just gets too loud for the microphone on the recorder, which makes it sound all raspy and all like it does in the recording. All that "raspiness" doesn't exist in real life.

I drove with open I pipe and down low sounds very good, but then gets ricey. Same with open RKSport headers. Good until the high RPM.
