At low RPMs <2500 as I engage the clutch I hear a little rattle sound coming from the exhuast (I think). The sound is also noticable when I disengage the clutch at higher RPMs. When the car is under load I don't hear it except at low RPMs. I just got a new cat so I doubt its that because the sound was there before as well. My other two guesses are heatshield rubbing somewhere or I remember reading about the dual walled Y-Pipe in our cars and how sometimes the inner pipe becomes loose. Anyone else have this problem? What else should I check?

when I was under the car and tapping on the exhaust it sounds like its inside but I can't exactly where from. I got a new Catco so I'm guessing its in the pipe somewhere - sounds like its the I pipe. It might also be the bung.1998 Camaro M5, Sports Appearance Package, K&N,CAI,Whisper Lid, Dynomax Superturbo exhaust,Carsound Converter.
http://members.cardomain.com/canadiancamaro

It's probably the heat shields. That's what vibrates on mine. It also sounds like it's coming from in the pipe, but thats because it resonates through the pipes, because we put it on a lift and saw the shields rattling, but it sounds like its coming from the middle of the car. I plan on gettin' a set of pacesetters so hopefully that'll fix it.\'97 Pontiac Firebird A4 3.08/open
Best 60ft.: 2.411 Best 1/8: 10.262 @ 69.726 Best 1/4: 15.941 @ 87.48
Mods: SLP CAI, Loudmouth, Test Pipe
