  • K&N FIPK or Whisper Lid + SLP Ram air?

I'm getting ready to buy a better intake setup for my car, but I have a few questions. Bear with me, I searched for all the info I could before posting this ;)

-Which setup should give me the most power increase? (FIPK/Whisper Lid + SLP Ram air)

-Does the SLP Ram air suck up dirt from being so low to the ground? A few people have expressed concerns about this

-Should I remove the MAF screen while I'm doing the instal of the new intake setup, as in is it worth it to remove it while I'm digging around inside the hood and all?

-About how long will this take me and what tools will I need to complete the job? I'm pretty technically inclunded (I work as a computer technician) and know my way around the inside of my engine bay well enough. Also, do the parts come with good instructions?

Sorry for the laundry list of questions, but I just wanna be sure before I fork over a few hundred dollars for a setup :D Thanks in advance!

i'm pretty sure that you can't choose either/or on the FIPK and SLP ram air. i might be wrong. but i was pretty sure that up to 1997 you had to get the FIPK and 1998+ you had to get the ram air. i have read mixed reviews on the removal of the MAF screen. also, i have the ram air and it doesn't suck up dirt. it actually doesn't pull air in (there is no suction). the ram air went in pretty easy all considered. i think it took me about an hour and a half with a friend helping when i needed. and yes, the instructions are good enough.
