  • SLP Cold Air?

Hey guys I'm finally ready to get SLP's Cold Air and I wanted to see what you all thought about it. I mean I don't have any exhaust mods done. Will I see any kind of gain with it even though that will be my only mod for right now? There will be more to come just wanted to start off with the cold air.

It's a great mod no matter when you do it, but you wont' feel as much until you combine it with exhaust. My personal opinion...get a cat back, or at least high flow muffler and tips first.

The main reason... if you do intake, you notice a bit of power, but not much... no real sound improvement and your car doesn't look any better(unless you open the hood).

Do the muffler with tips... you get a bit more power, you get a mean sound and the tips will really nice up the rear end of the car..

    Good luck.

when doing the intake mods, it's better to do all of them at once, if you can. I felt a lot of power when I did my whisper lid, K&N filter, and maf screen. I'm gonna do either the ftra or the slp cold air, but either one will get me a few hp/tq. What usually happens when you just do intake stuff, you're able to get more air into the engine, but the exhaust is the same, so you're torque will go up in value, but will peak lower in the rpm band. you usually feel more hp w/ intake mods too. later, when you get your exhaust done, you'll feel a big gain since all that extra air can now get out of the engine faster and easier. you will notice a slight deepening of your exhaust tone if you just do intake stuff, but not nearly as much as if you did exhaust. Our cars respond really well to inatke/exhaust modifications, so anything done in those 2 areas will increase hp/tq substantially.
