New style CAI filters?

This isn't a "Are the CAI filters good as K&N" type question. I really don't care who makes the SLP CAI filters...

My question is if a different style filter would have any advantage. On my sister's Supra, she has the filter similar to my SLP one except on the top of the filter it has an opening. I found a website that has these filters available and wondered what you guys thought.

Just wondering since its about time to clean mine anyways.

off topic, but would the K&N filter cleaner work to clean the SLP filters?

Yeah, it will clean the SLP filters...that much I know.

(i dont think the slp filters are too restrictive though, id bet that even if the filter is better, the engine doesnt need any more air than its allready getting with the slp filters on the cai)

My SLP filters I flow tested, and let me tell you, the SLP CAI can flow more air than the 3.8 or 3.4 can pull, even with head work, tons of exhaust work, etc.
