  • Got my exhaust on...

I used to just have a flowmaster 40 series, sounded pretty nice but not enough hp gain and not loud enough

I just put on a 2.5 carsound cat, 2.75 formula piping, and a flowmaster 80 series with chromes 3" or 3.5"(not sure) slash cut tip

As far as sound goes at idle sound bad a$$, 10 times louder then before, almost sounds like a v8

At 2000 rpm and under also sound like a v8.
If i flore and go over 3000rpm it starts sounding like ****

As far as hp gain, honestly im very dissapointed i don't feel too much of a gain at all, i feel i have lost low end torque, and a little gain at higher rpms but thats all

The sound of the 80 series honestly isn't what i expected, the 40 series i had before sounded almost as good w/the 2.25 and stock cat, im debating on getting a 40 series, because i feel a 40 series is a million times better, and now i can see why some people said they threw out their 80 series after getting them and went w/40 series

sorry for the long post but jsut trying to share my experience w/the 80 series

After two days with the exhaust i begining to change my mind about the exhaust, i begining to feel the gains, i think the car just needed to adjust to the added air flow, and as far as the sound goes i guess others disagre, because tonight after work i drove home parked my car and i guess there were some people and my neighbors house, and a guy came up to me and asked me if i had a trans am (one of my proudest moments , and :D ofcourse i told him it was a six but he told me it sounded f**king nice, made my day and has changed my thought on the exhaust
