Exhaust Leak... Please Help!

I did a muffler swap a few days ago, and had to use an acetylene torch to cut the old muffler off. In the process, I burned a hole in the exhaust pipe that the sleeve of the muffler will not cover. Does anyone know of an easy way to "Patch" or cover this hole, it sounds like crap.

Well, I can think of a few things you can do:

1. Replace the I-pipe with a new one.

2. Most car parts stores have some kind of exhaust patching stuff. You can pick it up and see if it works. I don't think it is a lot of money.

3. Take a piece of metal and weld it around the hole

4. Get an adapter that fits inside the muffler inlet and over the I-pipe far enough to cover the hole. Clamp it down/weld it behind the hole

5. If the hole is far enough from the muffler, get a small piece of pipe that will fit over the I-pipe, cover the hole with it, and clamp/weld either side.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck with the fix!
