  • Pacesetter Headers installed

I bought some Pacesetter headers and went to get them installed last week. Everybody wanted $300 for the install and finally someone told me they would do it for $250 dollars. The guy screwed me over in the end and it ended being $300 anyways. Then told me my cat was clogged but when I got my spintech exhaust i told that shop what happened and they showed me the cat and said that it was perfectly fine. The guy thought he could hustle me for even more money i guess. Now I get an SES light after the cars been running a little while and when i shut it off and start it back up, the light is gone for a little while. any ideas?

might be the digital EGR that thing will set of ses light after a lil driving if its not working correctly, and to get the headers on they def had to take it off so its something to check into. Good luck,

I noticed that the tone of my exhaust lowered when I did headers, but the volume pretty much stayed the same...until I did the cam.

The Pacesetter headers that I got were nice. I got the coated ones and the coating looked nice out of the box and are still pretty impressive.

The only thing I didn't like about the headers was that the EGR pipe was out of alignment from the stock one (not a big deal) and that the bolt holes on the flange were not threaded. This wasn't a big problem, just a small inconvenience.

        Otherwise, installation was pretty easy.

My installation was a nightmare. I tried doing it myself and alot of bolts were inaccessible even after taking off the a/c and alternator so i gave up. i paid $250 for a shop to do it and welding was required. Afterwards there was an exhaust leak, which after arguing with the guy, cost me $50 (he originally wanted $100) Now i get an ses light. Then again i do have a 3.4L and it seems u have a 3.8L. I still get the light and don't know why yet. His description on the tone is about how mine changed. I didn't get the coated ones however.

greenglow, you need to get your car to a dyno man, that is where you are going to see how your car has changed due to boost. The track has so many variables, just save up some cash (lol) and go to a dyno for a day and then come back with power numbers. Our cars dyno at somewhere around 160 HP and 200 ft-lbs of torque.

              Sorry for hacking this thread.
