Im just getting tired of my loud exhaust so im thinking of getting one of these, z28 takeoff exhaust, ss takeoff, 80 series flowmaster, 40 series flowmaster, edelbrock, and dynomax. Which is deeper/sounds better?

I love my Spin Tech. I just got it thursday and it sounds smooth all the way through the rpm band. Doesn't get raspy. I recommend it highly.

40 series is alot louder than the 80 series. I threw my 80 series away because it was so quiet. I'd go with that.

Doesnt 40 series have more of an "exotic" sound?

you have a 3.8l engine, he has a 3.4. Major difference in the way that the exhaust sounds on the two engines :D just a heads up.

I dont want a really loud muffler, but one that just has a clean rumble. Which one is better for that the 40 or 80 series flowmaster? Any horsepower diffrence? Also is it better to get intake before exhaust? Right now im thinking about getting 3" catco with 3" pipe going to 80 series flows then with 3" crome tips. Is that good? Thanks

I think 80 series sound good on the 3.4. It has somewhat of a deeper tone. I have a Dynomax and personally love it. Just what I wanted. Not loud at all, but has a small growl. Only time you hear it is when I go WOT. It has no rasp, but then again mine is an auto and the rpms go as high as 4500, so no raspiness.

I'm going to recommend the SS exhaust if you want quiet.

I have the edelbrock. It has a nice High rpm sound, but it is ricey droone at 3000. Very strange. I'm switching mine this summer to get rid of the droone. Some people like it though, just not for me. I want a clearer sound.

Im looking for a hollow growl like what you would hear on a v8.

I have an Edlebrock, but with my 3" exhaust and high flow cat, it's not too quiet at all. Go with the SS exhaust.
