That dual pipes(tips) off one muffler on a car that only had one pipe would affect performance? If you change nothing on your exhaust except add a muffler with 2 pipes instead of one, it's either going to breathe better or lose backpressure right? ...thus affecting performance?

I think quad tips on our cars n/a is a waste. Even with the two, you can feel more pressure coming out of the left rear pipe than the right. Adding two more would likely result in a loss of backpressure would it not?

That all having been said, I did mine for a mean sound and a killer look, not really for performance so it doesnt' matter ;)

The tips are not going to do hardly anything at all. Its mostly for looks if you get quad tips. The backpressure mostly dependson your cat, piping size and your muffler.

Sorry, above i meant to reply to ...

"I think you mean dual or quad tips. A true dual exhaust on ours car would kill performance. A quad exhaust is just crazy...well, unless you drive a Honda civic . Tips don't make any difference in performance. Its just what ever you like best. I like quad tips personaly but I only have dual. I once saw a truck with 8 tips! yes 8. Very ugly."

..instead I hit new topic :( I dont' suppose a moderator could move this post into the current 'exhaust question' thread?? : )
