I have a flowmaster 80 series on my 99 firebird does any know how much louder it would be if i took the cat off. I do not have to comply to emmisions testing. My cat is currently bad and I need to replace it but hate to spend the money. so just asking how much louder it would be with out it.

when i had the cat off my 95, it was a lot louder and more raspy, especially up in the rpm's... i put a cat back on cause the sound annoyed me. I also have a flowmaster as well, but my engine is a 3.4, so your results could vary...Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"

honestly, i dont recall.. it was a supposed high flow from A&A auto parts.. i had a buddy that worked there at the time so i would get 20% off everything. if i'd buy one now, itd probably be a catco or something similar. you can get them through summit for like $65 or so.. you will see performance gains from keeping the cat off by the way. you might lose a bit of low end torque, but your engine will breathe better up in the rpm's...Phill

95 camaro... need money for turbo project...
94 S10 Blazer - winter beater - infinity system to be installed soon

\"The man who says it cant be done should not interrupt the man doing it...\"
