stupid hose on whisper lid

I popped the hood yesterday to add washer fluid and i noticed the hose on my intake is barely on there. Basically its hard to get it clamped on there with no grip. I even had duct tape (sounds so dumb) over the clamp and part of the whisper lid just to get a better seal. Obviously it didnt work. So i got it on pretty good now and its only a matter of time til it slides off again.

So, is there some kind of rubber replacement hose I can buy or something that wont slip off like plastic/plastic does? I dont know how long it was like that and i guess what i need to do is just check every so often?

The part that goes from the end of the whisper lid, and the maf? on the engine side, it has ridges that hold it on. The lid side, just tighten down the clamp. What do you mean by the clamp has no grip? I'll look at mine tomorrow, but I don't remember having any problems with leaking

The hose basically wants to slide off the whisper lid itself... there isnt much of a lip to attach it too especially on the bottom. I tightened it last week so this saturday I will take a look to make sure it hasnt fallen off and if it does, I will find some black duct tape and that might help it stay on better. lol

Sounds like you need a better hose clamp. Try Home Depot and get a new one.

i've got the same problem with my suncoast ram air box..it stays on the box fine..but is loose on the intake/TB..if it wasnt for our stupid angled TBs we could just use a nice piece of silicone hose..i tried a hose clamp there but it didnt work due to the type of hose (kinda hard to explain)..i think im going to try wrapping the edge of the intake itself in electrical tape so the hose just fits over it tighter [img]smile.gif[/img]

Sounds pretty crummy. I have the stright TB and i dont even use clamps on my boot, fits together like legos. on my 2000 there is only 1 1/8 inch gap between the TB and the whisper lid tube. I made an insert for that boot to fill the gap between the 2 to cover the one baffle in the boot that was exposed. So now its smooth flowing all the way through . Im guessing its about a 2 or 3 hp mod. It feels like there is actually a gain but im sure its all in my head...
