new to the board and camaros, looking for some first mods.... whats the advantages/disadvantages of both the free ram air mod and the slp cold air kit for a 2000 camaro (obviously price is a plus for the FRA), but other pluses/minuses or opinions on which is better.... thank you

    I'm a newbie as well.

    Considering between FTRA and MTI.

What are pros and con? Thanks!

If your going to buy them new, go with the K&N kit for $300. It puts a Cone filter where the air box is. Kinda like the Vigilante kit. They claim 22hp on a LS1 and has been dynoed to give 22hp. Its kinda like a combo of a ram air kit and the Whisperlid. FYI, MTI doesn't make a lid for the V6. V8 lids don't fit V6's, atleast not 2000+. If you can get both of those things used then it's better to go that way, that's what I'm doing. Find a Whisper lid for $100 or so and a FTRA for $130 then you'd be alright.
