I had an a universal 3" GM cat installed 5 months ago and the SES light went on a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it was the typical SES light that everyone gets when they swap out their stock cat, but it appears to be clogging. The car is weaker, I hear some vibration sound sometimes from under the car(not rattling), the exhaust sounds quieter and the longer I drive, the quieter it gets, and the car doesn't feel as smooth and willing to go. I also put my hand up to the tips and there don't seem to be much coming out, so it's definitely clogging up.
My question is: Will I be able to pass smog if I put a Catco6007? I'm in California here. I'm thinking that I SHOULD be able to.
Anyone know how to correct this RICH/LEAN condition??
