What is the size of the S-pipe on the Magnaflow cat-back? Is the inlet that connects to the cat 2.5" ID or 2.25" ID? Also, what type of connection is on the Magnaflow S-pipe and does the S-pipe come as part of the I-pipe or does it need to be welded to the I-pipe after installation?
A pic of the S-pipe to cat connection would be helpful if anyone has any.
Thanks.

I have the 3". I believe both use a flanged connection to the cat. you can cut off the flange and band-clamp it or weld it though. the S to I connection is a simple clamp.

I just really need to know and see where the S-pipe starts to go from 2.5" ID to 2.25" ID because I am going to install a new cat at the same time and I dont want to have 2.5" coming out of the cat into an S-pipe that is 2.25". If I need to cut then very end of the S-pipe and put a 2.5" ID pipe in as an extender I can, but I would not be able to have a small bend made because the shop that is going to be installing this only has a crimp bender and having a crimp bend in the S-pipe defeats the purpose of having a madrel bent cat-back.

the s-pipe on a 2.5" system is 2.5". The only thing is im in the same situation as you and am wondering if I get the 2.5" with free catalytic converter off ebay, is the outlet of that cat 2.5". If not I hope it comes with a reducer.
the cat will be a 3" in, 2.5" out that comes with the ebay auction.
if you are unsure about the stock cat, buy a carsound off ebay. should be able to pick up the 3"/2.5" high-flow for about $30 and your problem is solved.

So your sure that the catalytic converter on the ebay auction will hook right up to the 2.5" catback? Thanks for the info, BTW. I will probobly switch to 3" if I ever touch the valvetrain, but since im moving away to college in the fall, thats questionable.
just get a peace of 2.75 frome autozone and use it as a coupler. Thats what I didon my 2.5 system
