  • Having trouble installing whisper lid

I have a 2000 V6 and just have no idea what to do with the hose. Help!

I dont have a 2k but it should be the same as a 98 v6. Just remove the air silencer (the big black thing that goes inbetween the stock air lid and the throttle body) remove it and throw it away. Then install the new lid and the hose goes from the new lid streight to the throttle body.

Shoot, how the heck do you get that air silencer off?

You have to pop off those two plastic pins holding it on. Don't throw it away though. Before you get started though, make sure you have a new air intake hose. I think Whisper Lids come with them. My lid didn't. Had to buy a 4" dia hose from advance auto for 11 bucks.

Okay I removed the air silencer with no problems. Now my 2000 says to use a pre-existing hose from my car so do I use the hose that runs from the first lid to the silencer, or the one from the silencer to the TB? Also how do I unclamp those clamps without a flat-head screw? They are really tough.
