  • Which Ram Air kit? What about Hypertech?

First off, is one Ram Air kit any better than the other? A friend has a Fast Toys Ram Air kit and seems to really like his. Is the only difference that it has a rain blocking plate that the SLP doesn't? Well the friend recently sucked water into his car so I don't put much faith in that although I seriously doubt he had his on at the time. The WRA kit has the same plate right? Is there any other difference or just a wast of $50?

Sorry for asking a common question but I couldn't find much about it from searching. Is the Hypertech chip finnally out for a 2000 model? Is it any better than a Jet Chip that I'm using? If so I'm very tempted to make the switch if I could sell my Jet Chip. Those interested let me know my email.

Thanks for updating me, I haven't been on here in a while.

It's www.fasttoys.net and kendall, I did't have my block off plate on when I did that, otherwise, it would have been fine going through that puddle. Don't sell your Jet Chip yet, IM me first or I'll talk to you about it next time I see you.

So is either Ram Air better or just $50 more for no reason?

Is the Hypetech out for the 2000 model 5spd Camaro yet? What are the gains? Better than the Jet Chip?

The best one is the one you build from aluminum flashing and metal screws that you buy from Home Depot for less than $10.

"the best one"? What makes the home-made better than the ones you buy? I have yet to see a cheap or free mod that LOOKED as good as my ram air kit, that is important to most people.

Is that better to most people? If you know what you are doing you can make one that looks good anyway. Secondly, you can barely see the thing wedged between the radiator and condensor like it is. And lastly, how much did you pay for yours again? A price difference of 1500% is very important for something that performs equally well (or better since it is fairly lighter than the stainless steel counterparts).

Actually he only paid $50 for it. He bought it off of somebody that was getting a WS6. Oh and about that $10 price, it's not $10 if you don't have anything to cut the metal with or do any of the work, you have to buy all of those and the price quickly goes up. But I'm about to buy a used FTRA for $100 so that's only $90+ the homemade price so I think I'll go for it, dang I love used parts.
