  • Exhaust mani's heat shields needed?

They protect your engine bay from the 1000+ degrees F temperatures. I wouldn't take them off. I had mine on and they messed up my spark plug wires. Any wiring in the car needs to be protected by heat. There may be an alternative, but I wouldn't just take them off without some other form of protection.

Pop your hood and see if you can see which way it vibrates while running. Don't touch it (duh) without gloves though.

i think you could take the the manifolds off and get them ceramic coated but by that point you would be better off buying headers... there you go just buy headers, that will solve all your problems ;)

I pulled my heat shields off as the first step of the header install. Of course step two took like 2 more months until I got around to it. no problems here, but makes sure your spark plug wires arent rubbing against anything hot.
