okay, here's your perfect setup... a z28, ss, or trans am muffler with a high flow cat (make sure to keep the muffler on the ORIGINAL car though =). You should sound like a v8, oh sill me, it's because it is a v8!

The v6 3.8 doesn't have to sound completely like crap...about 5/8 or maybe 3/4 can sound good. Down low and mid range can sound somewhat deep and good (esp. after you fix an exhaust leak ;) )

I would have to agree with this.

Just be warned it is not as loud as a flowmaster.

And for LorgoftheBling, since you are a rookie, I will go easy on ya, we try to keep it friendly and civil here. So behave.

its not really a burnout-its just so you can hear my car at high revs.

i normally rip on rookies pretty bad but this rookie seems to know what he is talking about. all V6s will rice out. name an exhaust and ive heard it, it rices. slackers car sounds good due to the car, he used to have a blomaster before the cam and it riced out. B&B rices out, corsa is the worst almost, my take off rices out, spintech rices out, edelbrock rices. some are worse then others but they all do. a cam will help

so you guys say Borla is better than BB TriFlow?
ive heard borla is really ricey up high but at least BB is a lilttle more toned down, not as ricey, right? I want a damn nice sounding v6, i say nothing of v8s, have damn good respect for them.

Ok guys, The cam
looking for mileage, driveability, emmisions, more "rumble",( notice the quote, so guys im not referring to the v8s just the best on a 3.8.
and of course power
Lay some custom specs for me on what im looking at.

I want a badazz sounding 3.8, if i wanted a v8, i would have got one, but up to this point more power is unnessary due to college. Come on guys, lay some specs on me.

As a data point on decent soundung v6's, I personally think the new 350z sounds nice. Much different sound than what us F-body guys go for though..

Exactly. But like SierraRider28 said, it is quieter-sounds closer to stock (in the upper r's)-to me rather than an obnious (sp?)sound.

Quite contradictory, you say everybody has their opinion, yet you choose to disregard his because it doesent suit you.

I have to say flowmaster sounds mean and deep until about 2000-2500 RPM, but cmon just admit it rasps hideously after that. Its just the way it is, a lot of exhausts will sound good at low RPM's on the 3.8, but I have yet to hear one that doesent rasp above 3500. Even a lot of LS1's can sound like crap up top. Stop worrying about it so much.

the thing is .... im NOT worried about it.

all i gotta say is that..when im driving..it sounds nice in the car.. its not me who has to worry about what it sounds like on the outside.. it sounds good inside..

and yes..EVERY exhaust rasps out on our cars.. its a harsh fact. im over it... i still dont think it sounds like **** tho... especially compared to those civics and **** trying to own the road

i thought my exhaust sounded good for the longest time. that was because i was hearing it from the inside. then one day i let my friend drive my car to the store and i was horrified by what i heard. i kept thinking "omg that is what everybody is hearing--that sucks!" but from the inside it sounded good.
