  • My borla rusted on in 2 months!

The right side ajustment where you can put in the different plates has rusted totaly up, I guess that part isnt stainless steal. I only installed it the first week of january.

I have the smallest open plate in right now, I attempted to take out the bolts yesterday and they are in the worst of places! I put it together when it was on the floor so those two top ones are imposible to get to now.

WHen I finly got my wrench on it ,I torqued down, the wrench slid off and I sliced my knuckles open (hands taped up in the clawed position) If I ever take another crack and get those bolts out I am changing them for some smaller ones that dont require threading.

WD-40. It will losin those bolts right up. I just changed my plate and had to use the stuff. It really did wonders. I have had my Borla on for about a year now and no rust on that part. So that sounds weird it would rust like that.

There are different grades of Stainless Steel. The cheaper ones have other metal mixed in and will eventually rust.

I think it is mostly the weld's that rusted but never the less it is in a difficult place.

While we are on this subject, what is the best plate to have in? I have the smallest open one and it sounds kinda like my boat when it is out of the water :D

Doesn't Borla have a no rust guarentee? If your exhaust rusts they replace it for free. At least that's what I think their policy is.
