  • Question on factory 3.4 Y-pipe

How do the pipes join? on the 3rd gen cars it's almost like a T, you have the drivers side pipe going to the cat & the pass side pipe is almost perpendicular to the pipe. not the most efficient or performance oriented design

And when you examine the factory y-pipe construction really carefully you find... Double wall construction.

The y-pipe starts and ends with 2 1/4" tubing. The external pipe is 2 1/2". The internal varies between 1 7/8" and 2" and it's a real mess from a flow perspective.

There is hp to be gained here for those that are willing to do something about it!
