what prevents water from entering a SS engine

I've got a ram air hood on my camaro and still working on this 3.4l to 3.8l engine swap.what i want to know is how can I make the hood fuctional and keep water out of the air-filter. I know that water in the engine through the intake is very bad. Does anybody know where I might be able to get a ram-air intake that will fit the 3.8l engine?

The SLP Ultra Z hood, the WS6 hood and the SS hood have baffles right behind the scoop that keeps water from being able to enter the intake box.

Is your hood fuctional? I almost have the same style hood except the vent on my hood is several inches back. Does slp make a air box for your hood? I'd bet that it would work for mine. one more thing where did you get that guage pod behind your shifter? I like that.

Yes, my hood is functional and yes, SLP makes the ait box assembly for it, and I have it. I got the guage pod from RKSport many, many moons ago. I had it sitting in my closet for almost 2 years before I installed it.
