New Exhaust ***RICE SOUNDS GONE*****

Hey guys,

Well, incase you haven't guess I got a new exhaust. I used to just have a flowmaster 80 series muffler. Now I did stick with flowmaster. Below you will find what I have. Oh and by the way, I have to tell people I have a V6 car and not a V8 car. It sounds VERY deep and powerful but by no means quiet.

Well I got everything at JEG's and they are asking $271.99 for the Flowmaster Cat-back and like $35.00 for the dynomax bullet.


I also was chatting with shortdog and he said that you really don't even need the dynomax. But I got it anyway. I think it helps keep it nice and deep.

This is the same one I want to put on my 02 Bird. Is this the new system That Flowmaster showed at SEMA? Part # 17358 I think?

Sorry, Don't have the capability for sound clips but I do believe it was the system Flowmaster had at SEMA.

Trust me on this one guys. You want deep and powerful? This is the way to go.

Sounds like what I am looking for. Did you install it yourself? If not, how much to have it done?

How is it inside the car on the highway? Any droning? Do you notice much more power? Sorry for all the questions, it is so hard to make a decision like this. I want to be sure I will like it, and you are the only one I have seen that has done it.

Well it was $200.00 for the installation cause of the cat converter replacement.

Uh droning? It does but I can barely hear it on the highway. It sounds great through the whole RPM range. I have yet to have a buddy drive the car while I hear what it sounds like but everybody I drive by comments on how nice it sounds. If you're on AOL Instant Messenger my sn is o2blackbird. That's the letter "o" not a zer0.

I know the feeling. I took a gamble with this system cause nobody else runs it but I think it sounds awesome!

I have a question about the Dynomax Bullet Muffler, is it add any hp gain, is it like a after market cat and more importantly is it legal to put on, and i was going to put on an exhaust and i was wondering if i should get a carsound cat or get a dynomax bullet(now that you've mentioned it), please lmk

Well, having the bullett in place of the cat is illegal. Out of the 6 times that I have been pulled over. The cop has never taken a look underneath the car. Just told me to:

take the tint off
take the neons off
slow down
don't turn on red
replace that burned out headlight
look for the "no turn on red sign"

what size piping did you use the 2.5" or the 3"??

2.5. Shortdog however used the 3 and says it sounds really nice.

4'' diameter in the middle

if the stock y pipe is 3" how did u get it down to 2 1/2?
