so this bullet resonator...is it just a piece that fits in the i pipe? also, does it decrease performance?

Yeah it's basically a small "glass pack" or "cherry bomb" muffler. It just fits right to the I pipe. little work was needed to get the thing to fit in place of the cat but other than that it fits right in.

Um performance decrease? NOPE!!!

I actually have noticed a kick in the performance which is quite pleasing. But don't forget my car also came with 3.42 gears. Hope this helps.

will it work if im gettin a direct replacement cat and then an american thunder catback.
im doubting it because it would just lengthen it a lot.

I have a video clip of me running with a walker muffler (basically a dynomax) running off the y-pipe, so you'd get an idea of what a no-cat system would kind of sound like. But since no one really cars i'll just go use my invincible powers else where.

Well u could always have the shop cut to fit. There is a good length of pipe that could be cut the fit the dynomax.

i was wondering if by taking of the cat, does this make the car smell bad ever or give off a bad stench, i saw anther post on this forum where someone stated that they had a straight pipe and they said the car smelled bad because of it, is this true with the bullet muffler as well?

Well, u can smell fuel but that's only if you are standing right by the rear of the car. otherwise you'd never notice it.

Does the american thunder kit that you are talking about have the rectangular resonator in the I-pipe?

Yes! I bought the kit that is used for a 98+ Fbody but I have a 97 its the 17358 kit. It comes with resinator 80 series and all the piping. Now my setup sticks way out. I have to get it fixed. :mad:

Yeah it does have the square rectangular resonator in there.

Mine seems to fit just fine under my car, and sounds great while doing it.

so if i ran just a straight piping all the way through to my flows 80 series without a cat then it won't sound ricey, but deep and throaty instead? right?
