I see free ram air but not a could air intake. i want the one where you use sheet metal to make a scoop underneath the car and it rams it into the air box.....or do they have it listed as something esle?

            I've never seen a do-it yourself ram-air scoop.

Your best bet would probably be to find someone with a FTRA or a SLP CAI and make your best sheet metal copy.

just go out and buy it used. I bought it for $100 and the guy offered to install it for me as well (he had ramps and all). We spent about an hour and grabbed lunch. It was all good.

Point is, the time it'll take to concoct one you would be better off buying one. Now if you want to ghetto rig a custom lid, that's a different story.

How much differance does it do compaired to the free ram air? b/c i know the radiator is hot so its not really a cold air. but using the cai ram air it has to be better. did anyone notice a differance between the 2. Is it woth doing?

Ask Hou-Tex-six I think that's his name on this board. Go to the Houston area F-bodys you will find him there. He made his own and it works from what I've heard.

thats what i used as a guide...but i modified it BIG time...its 18" wide instead of 14, then the opened at the bottom goes from the air dam all the way to the front part...it runs hotter but thats what the manual fan switch is for...

so this guide does not go to the very front of the car.

Yes I saw an immidiate difference in two areas.

                            1.) More touchy throttle
2.) Highway power  flooring it at 55 is so much more fun with it. Oh did I mention it really surges from 90 on up...too bad I can't benchmark that on the 1/4mi...yet. :D

Does that guide for the FTRA pick up enough air. or should I try to extend it more to the front? And if I do how do I get around that bracket up front? hmmmm........
