Really, how did it sound worse? Does anyone else have tips similar to the ones i'm about to get. Or heard them on a V6 camaro?

Does anyone think the pipes would fit?

Yes, they will fit, and it will make it deeper and louder. I know this because I had a pair on my camaro and just recently took them off. Now it isn't as loud and seems a little bit more high pitched. Of course now my exhaust is semi-dumped, so the pipes do not even exit from under the car. Hope this helps.

(just my opinion) I've never been fond of large round tips - its been done too many time by the ricers.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

The inlet on the pipes I want is 2 1/4. Is that what the size of the stock pipes are?

Then which kind did you have? How would bigger and longer pipes make it sound like its a ricer? I would've thought it would make it much deeper and louder and some others say the same thing.

What size pipes do all of you have? Do you recommend a certain size?

I don't know about longer, but a 3" I pipe would make your car sound a little better. Not ricey. I have an 80 series flowmaster with round, slant cut, dual outlets, (right now 2.5" I pipe with 3" outlets.) I've gotten compliments on it from a few V8 people... so that's just my observation. How much would it cost to get a 3 inch I pipe for the car?

Hey red94, I have 4" diameter and 12 inch long tips now. I think that they are the same style that you're talking about, stainless steel and the slant at the opening. I recently went from the 3" diameter by 9" long tips of the same style, and I like the bigger ones alot more. It sounds louder, deeper, and looks alot less wussy than my old smaller ones. I've seen 4"x22" on a silver bird around where I live and I think that they are overkill, they look great on a full size truck ya, but not on f-bodies. Most of the 22 inches will be covered up by the body anyways, but go with what you want. Just my opinion!

I've also seen 3 1/2 inch diameter tailpipes that are 18 inches long. Those would fit better, might go with those. How much do you think a 3 inch I pipe would cost?

3" by 18" chrome tips are $20 bucks each at pep boys, and I think they look pretty good on a camaro or firebird.
