get a boost gauge, i'm sure at 90+ it's good for about 1.5 lb of boost ;)
no but seriously, there IS a notiecable pickup in the top end...and my times are consistenly faster over the Free ram air mod.
I think though if i can get past the sealing the box air tight issues (my lower box is mangled) it'll help even more2011 Camaro LS 6M, in black.

Yes especially since air is considered incompressable for thses purposes at subsonic highway speeds...
that is there is no ram effect. Gains are do to colder air and less restriction to flow.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com

I hope your joking about the 1.5psi. You're lucky if it shows 0.5psi. Seriously tho you'll get more of a "kick" on the highway, but it's not that huge.

umm...check the link.
also a few months ago, arctic wolf recommended the same thing for someone with the FTRA...only he was serious.

yea, i did suggest the use of a boost gauge to see what kind of boost could be achieved. i don't think I said 1.5 lbs. of boost though. Would there be any dyno gains from it, and if so, how much, cuz I was figuring maybe 5 rwhp max and 10 rwtq. does this sound logical?2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

A boost gauge probably isn't sensitive enough to get the numbers you're looking for, especially if you're expecting about 1 psi range of pressure differential.
You want something that measures on a smaller scale, like inches of water (27.68" H2O = 1 psi). You should be able to get stuff like this from a supply house like Grainger.
In another discussion (the supersucker), I mention that the best way to compare would be to get a differential gauge. It compares 2 inputs rather than measuring vs a setpoint or the pressure at the gauge. Measure the difference between the FTRA inside and just in front of the stock intake slot, and you'll get a better picture of what the FTRA does, since at the scale we're working at ("H20), the stock intake probably isn't at 0..Drivetrain Moderator - "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people!"
