having a CAI and a manual fan switch

Hey guys b4 i installed my CAI, when ever i used the fan switch to turn on the fans while driving i noticed a decrease in power i guess this is b/c the air that would otherwise go through the airbox was being sucked in by the fans....
now that i have the CAI in my car i dont think i would get the decrease in power anymore b/c the metal plate is shooting cold air that is being picked up below the radiator up into the airbox....this sounds right, what are your opinions?

If you had the free ram air mod, sounds logical that the fans could have been stealing the cool air, leaving you with the hotter underhood air...

It's always hard to tell definitely by the SOTP meter, but it sounds like you might be on to something.
