Has your car been running a little hotter? Logically, the CAI blocks off the radiator a bit, therefore allowing less air to cool. I've been running near 195-210 (I know that's normal) but before the CAI i was around 180 give or take. So just a little concern.

No problems here. But then again, I have Water Wetter in my coolant, a 180* thermostat, Hypertech programming for the thermostat, and the SLP manual fan switch....

how many miles on car? </font>[/QUOTE]Viper, this really has nothing to do with the miles on his car.
        Background:
Car was running fine until last Sunday when we put the SLP CAI in his car. He noticed almost immediately afterwards a heating issue. I've seen the same in my car, but part of that had to do with the fact that I moved to CA from WA shortly after putting in the CAI.

Um, the CAI doesnt block the radiator at all. Its behind the radiator, how the hell would it block the radiator?

For the 3.8 the CAI sits inbetween the condensor and radiator. Air is forced between the two by that plastic airdam under the car. So the CAI sucks up that air and does block some of it from touching the BACK of the radiator (or front, or however you want to call it).

viper, 50K miles on the car, it does lie near the radiator, will check the water pump, etc etc. For the moment, I just turn the fans on when i'm idle, or before I turn off my car (let it cool).

I have had mine in for a few years now and have never noticed a difference in temp. This is running in temps up to near 100.

what CAI are you talking about here?

the SLP CAI i have is two black tubes that go behind the radiator into the fender well.

i didnt know they made one that went in front of the radiator?
