custom air intake idea???

alrite the guy that had my 98 bird before me cut the wires to the foglites for some idiotic reason so my idea was to take the lites out and rig up some piping to the foglite holes and the run it to the car sorta like a super sucker but where do u hook the pipin to do u run it to the airbox or wut do yall think this would work and be worth it and any suggestions are appreciated.

it will work.. you could wire it to your stock airbox using a scoop to surround the airbox intake hole.

I'd recommend using some kind of grille in front of where the piping would run from at the fog light bays, just to prevent any crap from running up the pipes like bugs...

That is hard to say, definately you will notice some gain as there will be more air going to the airbox directly..

What I'd do is make a home depot cai (get one of the ricer cone filters for 20 bucks, use PVC piping, make a air-box to surround the Cone filter and connect that air-box to the PVC pipe mounted from your fog light holes.. that'd work great, and give you most gain

do u mean not use my stock airbox and wut size pipin should i use and do u think this is worth it and how much do u think it will be for the total project and has this been done and if so do u hav or know of any pics and wut should i use as grills to prevent stuff from gettin in there

How much it will cost? Not as much as a cold air intake setup from SLP or K&N thats for sure! I'd estimate around 50-75 bucks depending on how much the PVC pipes cost you and what-not.

i will try to remember to take pictures of my setup tomorrow. i have a camaro with the front grill removed. in the two openings on the front bumper, i cut two holes in the bumper support. i ran about 1 1/2" flex tubing from the holes up under my airbox. i then sealed the front of the airbox where there is that little gap between the plastic and the metal.

don't know where you'd come in on a bird, but mine seems to work quite well. i covered the two holes at the bumper support with some replacement window screen to keep bugs and stuff out.
