    I'm going to port and polish the throttle body, does that make the MAF screen obsolete since it probably wouldn't fit in there anymore?

    Most of the p&p work will be down further in the tb where it's more restricted, rather than the inlet which is the biggest part already. Unless you open it up so much that the groove for the screen goes away...

    You can probably get by with removing the screen on yours, since the '99 and up have the straight tb.

    I'd say try it both ways and see what works best for you.
