  • what headers should I get?

Help me decide what headers to get. I have heard good and bad things of each company that makes the headers for our engines and I am trying to get a good consensus.
I would like to know the pros and cons of each.
    Thanks

despite any problems you may have with the pacesetters they're still the cheapest.

IMO, the RKSPORTS are the best ones though more expensive. Just have a shop cut you metal gaskets and you'll be fine. It seems a lot of people are having problems with Pacesetter, and the CIA headers only have 1 5/8" primaries (only 1/8" smaller). My $.02

CIA are the best made headers for the RWD L36. They are hand made and mandrel bent, and have no problems with fitment or flanges warping. I thought Pacesetter was going to give them a run for their money, but with the recent problems with fitment. I'll have to keep CIA at the top of the list for now.

Blackbird did you read the other post about how they plan on doing further Pacesetter headers? Seems a little flimsy to me. I will be happy with mine once I get them a little bent by the muffler shop I am going to. Soon I can also tell you any differences that I feel from them.

One more thing about the Pacesetter's. I also had a small clearance issue with the knuckle on the steering column. I had to shave down the knuckle so it wouldnt knock against the headers. I still need to shave it down some more because when I am breaking and turning hard I get a little rub.

Well after reading everyone's imput and looking at the poll, I think I will my save up my money and go with the CIA headers. They are more expensive but the quality looks good. If Pacesetter does some changes within the next few months, then I will go with Pacesetter. I think I am going to stay away from RKSport.
I appreciate everyone's response to this.

You can undo the little bolt on the steering knuckle and move it forward slightly so that it doesn't hit anymore. I had a slight rub and this got rid of it.

My steering knuckle rubbed to. What I did was put high temp grease on each edge of the knuckle and surprisingly the car steered fine after that. So my advice would be to move the knuckle forward a little and then put a little high temp grease on the edges just in case.

I guess my car is a weird car. The pacesetters were built to fit my car, and then released to the public. Guess my car must be tweaked.

Its weird too because nobody ever had a problem until recently. I think one of their jigs got messed up. Dunno. Mine fit like a champ. Almost like they were custom built for my car.. :D
