I have a z28 catback with a flowmaster 80 series muffler and I love it. At idle it sounds amazing, people ask me if its a v8. Yes reving it in neutral will make it sound ricey but hey under no load what do you expect. In gear and giving it time to break in I am now starting to enjoy it. Higher rpm's really arent too bad anymore. But hey its all a matter of opinion, as long as your happy then its all good right?

what year was the z28 that you got your catback from? Someone is selling their full exhuast off a 95 Z28 and im wondering how easy it will bolt up to my 97 Firebird w/ dual exhaust setup

I don't think that sounds very ricey IMHO... (take note I used a crappy tape recorder to record that) It's my flow 80's reving in neutral...

I don't like the sound of Borla IMHO on a V6 at least. Sure, it's great at idle, but when you stomp on the gas, it sounds like sh|t I think, it just sounds like your exhaust is f'ed up it's so loud. May as well just get a cutout on your car for $30 rather then spend $600 for the Borla.

The cat-back stuff should hookup right. '93-'97 have the same exhaust hangers.

I agree totally RedBird. If you can't see in one end and out the other, don't buy it. I just got the muffler and once it broke in it sounds good. A guy who build race cars installed mine, he dyno'd a motor with a magnflow and then a few others (owns an exhaust shop) and the magnaflow was best by far. The flowmasters sucked. Dynomax was better than the flowmasters but sounded bad.

                    Would a 93-95 catback fit a 96+ ??

Isn't one OBD I and the other OBD II ?

OBD has nothing to do with the catback. It's basically just the computer. (And I believe our cars began using OBDII in the '95 3.8 models...)

So yes, the 93-95 catback should fit a 96 or 97, but '98+ have different hangers.

Anyone have any sound clips of their cars (3.8's please). I've heard 3.4s that sound good...haven't been able to hear any 3.8's though.

                                Thanks guys!
