Re: how to remove maf screen? cleaning tb....
I did this last nite...that stupid screen I took a small flat screw driver...twist it around and punch 3 holes it without damaging the sensor and took it off...gives more airflow but the reason why it is there is to stop something getting into the engine or TB....I have a turbo on the car and something is going to hit my turbo before my tb2002 Firbird,
STS GT35mm-61 Turbo, HP Tuners, 3.73,UMI LCAS,UMI Panbar
Nitto NT555R P245/50R16 96v, NGK spark plugs t55, transgo shift kit, Jet servo

Re: how to remove maf screen? cleaning tb....
Stab into it with a screwdriver and rip the b*tch out!
Ha, no, I think there is a ring around it that you have to (carefully) pry out. Then try to carefully manipulate it out. I got mine out trying to be careful and damaged it a little, but I'm not going to use it anymore anyway.

Re: how to remove maf screen? cleaning tb....
if you have a straight tb, 99+ fbodies got these, then removing the screen won't hurt you. If you have a 95-98 angled tb you will want to leave it in because your car won't like the change. Idle will be rough and you won't gain anything. To remove the screen there is a clip that you must remove before taking the screen out. There are two little holes in the clip that you pinch together and then remove the circular clip. Then carefully take a pin or something really small and insert it into a hole and slowly pull it out. You don't want to dent the fins if you are putting the screen back in.
