  • making my own "whisper lid"

i want to mod the stock airbox on my 98 camaro to make my own mini whisper lid.

what all do i need to do? How do i take those "fins" off?

Also, should i cut that middle thing out (where the lines comming from the TB go into the lid)

    Thanks

    edit*

oh yea, why did they even put those fins and that "middle" thing in anyway? it seems like a waste of time

Re: making my own "whisper lid"

you need to cut them out with a box cutter or something else that will ge the job done.
not quite sure what your talking about on the second one. If your talking about any rubber hoses or wires then no. if you are talking about removing the big box inline behind your air box, then sure, just replace everything with a tube and cut some holes to reconnect the hoses and sensors.

they put them in there for air and noise control.

If you have anymore questions, do a search. all of this subjects have been discussed before. thank you.
