  • Smoke from Exhaust

I'm aware it has been asked before, but I have to get to work soon and dont have time to look at all the results. Hopefully someone has an idea for me by the time i get back.

So, when i start my car, about 30 seconds later, a grayish-white smoke comes out of the exhaust. It usually lasts for about a 30 seconds to a minute after it starts. The smoke doesn't linger and disappears soon after exiting the tailpipes. I blamed this on the cold weather for a while. But I live in Southeast Texas, and it isn't even close to cold anymore. Please let me know if you have any ideas as to what is causing this.

Pretty sure white is coolant, but that would kind of be water...
      Could be wrong though.

if it goes away, its just condensation. your perfectly fine. nothings wrong.

general rule of thumb, for future refrence.

white smoke - goes away, not smoke, but condonsation.
blueish smoke - too much oil.
          black/dark smoke -too much fuel.
          white/grey- hangs around, coolant.

could be condonsation, could be a small coolant leak that is only smoking noticably after sitting awhile and pulling up.

aight good, you think it would be worth paying to have it checked out if it evaporates away pretty quickly. By the way, I do have a flowmaster dual outlet on it. I dunno if that would make a difference.

just get a compression check gauge from harbor freight they are on sale for like $7
you probably have nothing to worry about though
My head gasket leak would smoke like a train, at weird times...
edit: if you had a coolant leak you would eventually see your oil looking like
                yogurt.

probably water built up in the muffler, and it is burning it out.

do you see water drip out of it sometimes when this is happening?

i could be his valuve seals and the smoke could be oil leaking into his exaust,
